A message from the American Red Cross: As we continue to support the local community, we also continue to search for great individuals in the community to volunteer with us. A message from Elizabeth Gullum to the community:

Dear Friends and Family across the country, Madison County schools is preparing for the first weeks of school to be remote learning. We have had a 50% increase in cases here and also an infant and a school age child affected, and so our District has made the tough call to begin distance learning. While those of you who live in urban areas, may not be able to relate, we are a large, rural, remote community with limited WiFi access and a large number of our school families do not have devices (chrome books or iPads) for their children to utilize during the school year. If you have a device that you aren’t using, please consider donating it to our schools. I will cover the cost of your shipping. We are a beautiful county, with hard working families, and we need help! Our Fifth Graders placed first in the state in Reading, Math and Science last year! A remarkable accomplishment given the challenges our teachers face. Please if you are able, send us your old devices, it could change a child’s life. Thank you.
