sons and your daughters shall prophesy.
All: Send down the rain of your love!
One: Your
old shall dream dreams, and your young
shall
see visions.

people!

those days, I will pour out my Spirit.

CALL TO CONFESSION
UNISON
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Merciful God, you
poured your Spirit upon gathered disciples, creating bold tongues and ready
ears. We confess that we ignore your
Spirit among us; we are silent about you when we should speak, and listen to almost
any voice but yours. We do not listen
for your word of grace which invites us; we do not speak the good news of your
love which invites others. Have mercy on
us, O God …silence for individual prayers of confession…
Gracious God, transform our timid lives by the
power of our Spirit. Fill us with a
flaming desire to be a believing and witnessing people, doing your will for the
sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
* ASSURANCE
OF PARDON
One: Through
the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Christ Jesus, our Savior, I
declare to you the complete
forgiveness of your sin. Be at peace
because of God’s mercy.
All: Thanks
be to God; Amen!
* Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to
the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world
without end. Amen. Amen.

* AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Progressively louder)
Equal with God: Jesus
is Lord.
Emptied himself: Jesus
is Lord.
Came as a servant: Jesus
is Lord.
Found as a man: Jesus
is Lord.
Humbly obeyed: Jesus
is Lord.
Went to his death: Jesus
is Lord.
Death on a cross: Jesus
is Lord.
God raised him up: Jesus
is Lord.
Gave him the name: Jesus
is Lord.
Sent us his Spirit: Jesus
is Lord.
Higher than all: Jesus is Lord.
Every knee should bow: Jesus
is Lord.
All tongues confess: ‘JESUS
IS LORD!’

*Prayer of dedication and thanksgiving
Generous God,
from your abundance you have freely given; now from our abundance we give you
what is yours. Receive what we offer so
that your world of
which you have
not grown weary, and your glory
in which the world
abides, may know more of your abundance. In Christ’s name we pray, amen.
THE EUCHARIST
INVITATION TO THE LORD’S TABLE
THE GREAT THANKSGIVING AND LORDS
PRAYER
One: May the God of Pentecost be with you!
All: And also with you!
One: People of Pentecost, open your hearts to
the Spirit
moving in our midst.
All: We open them to the Breath of God which
fills us with hope and grace.
One: Daughters and sons of the Most Holy, offer your
joy to our
God.
All: We
tell the amazing story of Pentecost
in the language of every heart –
praise and thanksgiving to our God!
The minister continues…In the shadows of chaos…
we glorify your name, saying:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of spirit and
truth.
All creation is made new by your grace.
Hosanna in the highest!
Blessed is the One who comes bringing hope
to save us.
Hosanna in the highest!
The minister continues…Holy are you, God of beginnings…we tell of that faith which is ours:
The Spirit testifies that Christ died for
us.
The Spirit bears witness that Christ was
raised.
The Spirit proclaims that Christ will come again.
The minister continues…As Christ promised…Until that day, we pray as Christ taught us to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
BREAKING THE BREAD
COMMUNION OF THE PEOPLE
